Before Endodontic Treatment
Before your proocedure, feel free to eat a full breakfast or lunch as applicable. You should take any of your prescribed medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, and other conditions as directed by your physician. If you have any questions, please contact our office before your appointment.
This procedure will be performed using local anesthesia. Typically, there are no restrictions on driving, returning to work, or other routine activities after the procedure. A doctor is available for consultation at any time on the off chance that any issues arise following your treatment.
If your physician or dentist has advised you to use antibiotic premedication due to mitral valve prolapse (MVP), heart murmur, hip, knee, cardiac or other prostheses, or rheumatic heart disease, please ensure you take the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment. If you have any questions, please call our office before your appointment.
If you can take ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen sodium (Aleve), they help reduce inflammation when taken prior to your procedure. We recommend 2 tablets of either medication 2-4 hours before endodontic therapy.
